In the world, Handball is played in 199 countries of which 52 are in Africa. Locally, Handball was introduced in 1969. The Kenya Amateur Handball Association (KAHA) was duly registered on 24th May, 1972. Kenya joined Africa Confederation of Handball in the year 1980 and the International Handball Federation in 1982.

History. Kenya poly handball team. In 2003, The Technical University of Kenya registered their men's team to compete in the Kenya Handball Federation League, with Duncan Ayiemba, the former Aga Khan High School, Nairobi skipper, as the captain of the team.
Many of the landowners gave sites for the building of courts, and the famous Dublin dandy Buck Whaley was said, for a bet of a hundred guineas ($300), to have walked to Jerusalem and played handball against its walls. There is a watercolor in Monaghan Museum dated 1782 showing a handball game being played against the walls of Castle Blaney.

History/Background Team handball was invented in Europe around the 1890’s. In parts of Europe, it was played with 7 players per team on and indoor field. In other parts, it was played outdoors with 11 players per team. Most describe the sport as a cross between basketball, hockey, soccer, and water polo.
